This weekend my wife and 4-year-old twins were in Sweden. With an empty house I had the opportunity to do something I haven’t done in a very, very long time… Watch a movie!
When browsing through the best seller lists I quickly found exactly what I had expected. Literally none of the movies enticed me. But then suddenly I came across two words that should peak any authors curiosity. The words spelled Authors Anonymous.
Authors Anonymous is a film about six authors and one overnight success. And surprise, surprise they all want the same fame. So when the most unlikely member of the group (Kaley Cuoco – yes, Penny from the Big Bang Theory) has a breakthrough, there’s a small uproar in the group. Let’s just say it’s a good thing they are armed with pens and nothing else.
Here’s a taste:
Authors Anonymous describes in a fun way what life in an author group can be like, where stereotypes obviously do exist. The characters in the group are a bit quirky but mostly in a very likable way.
To be clear most online reviews are pretty negative. I on the other hand find the film absolutely brilliant and would call it a must see for every author. In fact I’m so excited about this film that I’m in contact with some of the people behind the film. So stay tuned and I’ll share more.
But first things first. Rent the movie today and have a laugh!
